![]() Our internet will hit a cap and slow down for the rest of the month. The only problem is I can’t just set it up and then let it run and start syncing all the files over our internet. I want to set up the WD Sync to put all the local copies of my My Cloud onto the external hard drive. I moved all my files from an external hard drive to my My Cloud and now I would like to take the external hard drive to work. Use the Magnifying glass at the top right, Check mark 'Search this forum only", and try searching for “remote access” or “remote sync” or similar. There are several posts here that cover just that topic. Note2: Getting the files to Sync over the open internet is an advanced use of WDMC. Note : I’m not sure if WD Sync creates a convoluted parent directory structure where the files are copied to OR if it just creates a duplicate dir structure, so you’ll have to look at what as already happened, OR do a small test, OR consult the WD Sync doc. Now you can use the Windows File Explorer to drag and drop all of your PC files onto the external drive. Note that the documentation for WD M圜loud (WDMC) covers this task pretty well, so search this sub-forum for posts from as he posts links to the doc almost daily. ![]() ![]() If not, you’ll need to search for how to do that. Your WDMC should be connected via LAN cables to your router, and you should be able see its dir structure from your PC. Give it time, and you should be able to navgate to that extrenal directory structure via Windows Explorer (similar idea for Mac, but I can’t help with specifics). If I understand your problem description, i wouldĪttach your external drive to the USB port on your PC. ![]()
